Project 2: Research and Present Information about Emergent Fiction In this project you will work in small groups (2-3 people) or individually to conduct research about an emergent form of fiction. Emergent fiction is fiction that contemporary fiction that uses new forms of media or new methods of composition. Much of the emergent fiction uses (or exploits) digital and social media and is written by nonprofessionals and published on the internet. You will find out the definiton and features of one type of emergent fiction and then create a wiki page with the information you gather. You will find one example of this type of fiction and analyze it using the methods learned in class. Finally, you will present this information to the class.
Some of the types of emergent fiction that you you may want to investigate are: 1. fan fiction 2. slash fiction (a subgenre of fan fiction) 3. micro fiction 4. flash fiction 5. manga or graphic fiction 6. collaborative fiction (on line - also called blog fiction I think) - and example of this is the blog novel called "Dorothy Locked and Loaded" - http://dorothylockedandloaded.blogspot.com/?zx=ceeb12b1f8c5aa9c. SOme collaboratie fiction is doen through a wiki site and is called wiki fiction and mash ups 7. other forms? >> please ask the professor if there are other forms of fiction that you are interested in presenting

Examples: Good or interesting examples of this type of fiction: Each group member put up an example of a story they like of this type of fiction
Analysis: Choose one example and provide an analysis of this ficiton -- character, plot (narrative structure) or literary elements Note: rhetorical analysis of this ficiton is difficult because there is no or little information about the authors of this type of fiction.

Post a Message on Discussion tab of this page with your name Task List for Project 2. In the Task list, list what you plan to do to complete this project and the person responsible. Due: Today, Friday June 17th 4. Make a new Wiki page - with your group, and give it a title based on topic. Due: Today Friday June 17th 5. On the wiki page give topic and group members - or name. 6. On wiki page -- begin to list your sources -- put links to sources and start planning the page.
